DTS

DTS - a 5.1 digital surround sound system developed by Digital Theater Systems. It offers 5.1 channels of audio reproduction: front left, front right, front centre, surround left, surround right and a dedicated Low Frequency Effects (bass) channel, represented by the '.1.' DTS is used on CDs and DVDs, and is recommended for multichannel music playback. It uses less compression than Dolby Digital, and so requires more disc space.
